This Halloween, I was privileged to see Queen + Paul Rodgers totally rock the Sazka O2 Arena, in Prague, for an outstanding set of old classics, as well as newly penned songs from their album, The Cosmos Rocks.
Prague was in full voice, as the band (Brian May, Roger Taylor and Paul Rodgers) churned out hit after hit. Highlights of the evening included Say It’s Not True, a song on the new album, which is sung by each member of the group, Alright Now, a Paul Rodgers’ song from his time with Free, a folk version of 39 and a great drum solo from Taylor, which included drumming on a bass guitar and drumming on a drum kit as it was being assembled.
There was even time for a sentimental piece including Freddie, while Brian played his guitar solo classics Bijou and Lost Horizon, as well as a “duet” between Rodgers and Freddie, during Bohemian Rhapsody.
I noticed lots of Poles and Slovaks in amongst the Czech fans, helping to make a great atmosphere and an unforgettable night. So Dr. Brian May, if you are reading this, thank you for a great night, but please don’t forget to stop off at Bratislava on next year’s tour!!! ;0)
Here is Brian singing the simply wonderful Love of my Life, with a little help from us!!!
